"A new film reveals how Cambridge Analytica, collaborating with a
software company, has created a platform for US churches that targets
the poor, the addicted and the disabled — to radicalize them for
far-right politics.
For their documentary People You May Know, Charles Kriel, special adviser to the UK Parliament on disinformation, and filmmaker Katharina Gellein traveled across the United States accompanied by a team of journalists and whistleblowers. Their film reveals the political connection between religious fundamentalists, oligarchs and Cambridge Analytica and its shell companies, which have fundamentally shifted the balance of politics in the United States. ¨¨¨¨ "“I really got sick of him when he did not wear a mask, and he took the control totally away from the governors. It was a very bad situation,” said Joy Solomon, a 65-year-old from Boca Raton who voted for Trump in 2016 largely because that’s who her husband supported, but who has now turned against the president. “I want this place to come back to some sense of normalcy.” “He just lies about everything,” she said." ¨¨¨¨ "The US has been hit hard by the virus, with more than 7.1 million reported infections and 205,085 deaths. And with recent spikes in cases, health experts warn things could soon get worse in the US. Only
20 states are holding steady when it comes to the average of daily new
cases compared to last week, while 23 are reporting more: Alabama,
Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota,
Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North
Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont,
Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming. Seven states show downward trends in new cases - Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Rhode Island, Texas and Virginia. ¨¨¨¨With fall and winter soon driving people
indoors and bringing flu season with it, experts say Americans will
need to be consistent with following recommended guidelines. Mask
wearing, social distancing and avoiding large crowds will be key,
experts say, along with authorities increasing testing as infections
surge again. The US currently ranks highest on the total number of reported coronavirus deaths worldwide and sixth per 100,000 people."US: Religious data platform ′targets mentally ill, vulnerable people′ | Americas| North and South American news impacting on Europe | DW | 27.09.2020 (dw.com) ‘He just lies’: Florida’s senior voters suddenly are in play - POLITICO US coronavirus: America ranks at the top of the world's 1 million death toll - CNN 35 dage tilbage |

Michael Cohen says release of Trump’s tax returns is ‘the beginning of the end for Donald Trump’ (msnbc.com)
"Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was one of several politicians who spoke out about the report on Trump's tax returns. Ocasio-Cortez, who previously worked as a bartender in New York City tweeted, "In 2016 & '17, I paid thousands of dollars a year in taxes *as a bartender.* Trump paid $750. He contributed less to funding our communities than waitresses & undocumented immigrants. Donald Trump has never cared for our country more than he cares for himself. A walking scam."
